You get romantic, she gets suspicious
1 March 2008
So you signed up for our automatic reminder service and your partner has noticed a huge change in you. Suddenly you're paying attention to her, remembering the important dates in your lives and last week you bought her flowers for no reason at all!
All of this makes her very suspicious.
After all, the last time you bought her flowers was to apologize for something really bad. No wonder she's confused and concerned about your latest behaviour. Are you having an affair?
So what to do? You can try telling her straight out - I know I haven't been a great husband/boyfriend and I'm trying to change, maybe she'll also try harder in the relationship, but the key thing is that you keep it up.
New habits don't stick immediately and it's easy to fall back into old patterns of behavior. Our reminder system can help you remember but you have to take the action.
When it comes to paying their partners attention many men are lousy at it all year and then try to over-compensate with big gifts for birthdays and valentines day. Much better to keep the small love tokens coming all year with modest gifts for the big dates than this roller-coaster behavior.
So keep up the good work, her suspicions will fade in time and she will see that this is a new you not a build-up to some terrible admission of guilt.
