Couples locked in love. In Rome, couples symbolize their undying love by attaching a padlock to a lamp-post on the ancient Ponte Milvio bridge and throwing the key into the dark waters of the river Tiber. Many write their names on the lock and throw the key over their shoulders into the water to avoid seeing where it lands.
